2006 Kids Tournament |
| |
| The 2006 Kids Tournament was a great success. Over 70 students, ranging from yellow belt to brown belt, and ages 6 to 16, competed in this year’s tournament. |

| The students prepared for the tournament by listening and working hard in class. This extra practice and attention to detail helped build confidence leading up to the event. Instructors worked with the students on the day of the tournament to calm last minute nerves. |

| Each student demonstrated their forms, one at a time, receiving last minute encouragement from their instructors. The students were scored on their positions, their detail and the judges overall impression of their forms. In many cases, the competition was so close that each judge had a different competitor in 1st place. The students did an outstanding job. |

| We are very proud of how our students competed. They showed great courage demonstrating their forms in front of over 250 spectators. The students competed with different forms such as: Kicks

 |
| |
| Southern Fist |
 |
| |
| Num Chucks
|
| |
 |

| and Eagle Claw

| As a school, we are most proud of the way the students "competed." The students showed great sportmanship in encouraging each student to do their best. The tournament was not about who won 1st place or 2nd place, instead it was an opportunity for all students to improve and have fun in the process. In the months leading up to the tournament, all of the students worked hard to improve in their strength, flexibility, focus and determination to do their best. We are excited about the routines that the students performed, however, we are most proud of the respect and camaraderie shown by all of the students toward one another and the judges. Thank you to all of the students, judges, instructors, parents, friends and family members who made the 2006 Tournament a great day for everyone. |
