2005 Kids Tournament

The 2005 Kids Tournament was a great success. Over 45 students, ranging from white belt to black belt, and ages 6 to 15, competed in this year’s tournament. As a school we are extremely proud of all our students.

For the past two months, they have trained hard and focused on a form or weapon of their choice to demonstrate with in the tournament. The effort and patience they put into the detail and positions of their forms really paid off as they performed fantastic routines.

Through listening and working hard in class they developed a strong confidence in themselves.

This confidence was evident in the amazing poise the carried themselves with in front of over 100 spectators.

We would like to thank Instructors Jordan, Al, and Vanessa for the great job they did judging the tournament. The judges rated the quality of the routines as the highest of any of our previous tournaments.

Parents were impressed by the confidence shown by the students in front of the large crowd and seeing the more advanced students demonstrate their forms.

As a school, we are most proud of the way the students "competed." The students showed great sportmanship in encouraging each student to do their best. Students focused more on doing their individual best and helping their classmates do their best rather than winning first place or being concerned with who got a bigger trophy. Because of their hard work and great attitude, our students made this tournament a great experience for everyone.
